This web conference will provide an overview of trauma-informed practices for working with youth in virtual and digital spaces while providing prevention programming. Participants will learn about the parameters and details of mandatory reporting requirements in California. The web conference will showcase best practices for supporting youth in online environments during times of pandemic and uprising. Strategies for setting up expectations and building trust within virtual and technology-enabled settings with young people will be shared and discussed.

Skills for Disclosures and Support in Online Prevention Programs

This web conference will provide resources for further skill building on defining roles, responsibilities, and responses to disclosures during online prevention programming. Participants will practice how to facilitate an online prevention program with a trauma-informed design, respond to disclosures of abuse, identify triggers, and build trust while adhering to legal and agency policies.

Policy and Protocol for Trauma-Informed Support in Online Prevention Programs

Part 3 of this series will discuss the policy and protocol best practices for bringing a trauma-informed framework to online prevention programming in light of state laws around mandatory reporting. This will include a review of sample policies, best practices, and the intersection with local, state and federal policies. Participants will learn about simple policy and practice changes that can provide greater transparency, trust, and fidelity in their response to disclosures. Agency directors and managers are encouraged to attend to learn about how these changes can be instituted and supported within their organization.
